Articles



There are two articles in English one is definite (the) and another one is indefinite (a, an).
When we will use definite and indefinite:

Definite Articles:
If we talk about particular one person or thing, in this case we use definite (the) articles.
For examples:
The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka.
I read the book. (Specific book)
I have cleaned the room.
Before sleeping, please switch off the light.

Indefinite Articles:
If the person or thing is not sure or certain, in this case we use indefinite articles.
For examples:
I have a pen.
They went to buy an umbrella.
A man and a woman are going to market.
Yesterday I saw an elephant.
I ate an apple for lunch.
He is a good English teacher.
